What is Shakirr?
Shakirr is a gratitude journal rooted in shukr, gratitude to Allah. It helps you write private reflections and notice blessings through the 313 collection. It is open to people of every faith and background.
How much does Shakirr cost?
The web app is free to use. The iOS and Android apps are planned to be free during public beta. If that ever changes, the price will be shown clearly before it applies.
Do I need an account?
No. You do not need to sign up, provide an email address or log in.
Is my journal private and safe?
Your profile, settings and reflections are stored on the device or browser where you create them. Shakirr does not keep a cloud copy of your journal. You can enable an optional four-digit app-lock PIN and use supported device biometrics in the iOS and Android apps. Shakirr never receives your biometric data. App lock does not encrypt exports, so keep backups somewhere you trust.
Does Shakirr use cookies, advertising or analytics?
The journal app and web app do not use analytics, advertising trackers or remote crash reporting. The public marketing website uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for anonymous, aggregate traffic and performance measurement without advertising cookies. It does not include reflections, drafts, profile or settings. The web app uses browser storage only to save your journal and work offline.
Does Shakirr work offline?
Yes. Core features work offline after the app or PWA has been installed or loaded successfully. The first web load needs an internet connection.
How do I back up or move my data?
Open Settings, then Your data. You can export reflection notes or a full local backup, then restore that file on another installation. Export files are readable and are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere you trust.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual reflections. Reset profile and reflections removes your profile and journal from that installation. If you forget an app-lock PIN, the lock screen offers a destructive reset that erases the local journal before removing the lock. Sound settings and reminder preferences remain, and scheduled native reminders must be cleared separately.
How do reminders work?
The iOS and Android apps can schedule a morning reminder and optional Alhamdulillah reminders locally after you grant permission. They are not push notifications and do not include your reflection text. The web app does not schedule recurring browser notifications.
What is the 313 collection?
It contains 313 blessings in total across Family, Health, Provision, Body, Food, Faith and Time. The categories are intentionally different sizes so quality and everyday relevance come before symmetry. Every blessing has one concise reflection written for that specific subject, and the order is shuffled for each visit.
Which Quran and hadith content is included?
Web and native version 1 contain 11 gratitude duas: two Quran passages and nine supplications from published hadith sources. Each entry shows Arabic, a published English meaning and a direct reference. Shakirr does not generate Quran or hadith translations. Distribution permissions and published reuse terms have been recorded for this limited corpus. Shakirr is not an Islamic authority or a source of religious rulings. Check the cited sources and consult a qualified scholar for religious questions. The same 11-dua collection is included in the web, iOS and Android apps.
